Holy Macaroni

Sally was somewhat of a nightmare this weekend. We were in Austin (I was speaking at an internet marketing seminar) and our friend Aimee had offered to keep Sally adn Sydney during the seminar (we stayed at their house, so I could nurse Sydney during the night).

Sally was a wreck -- probably from lack of attention. Besides missing mommy and daddy, she had to share her surrogate mommy (Aimee) with 3 1/2 year old Hayden, 10 year old Ethan, and 14 year old Sam. Potty training was almost completely reversed by the end of hte trip.

And yet today, Sally wakes up in her own bed, and all is right with the world once again. No accidents today, no problems at school, and she went right down for her nap like a pro. Just goes to show, there's no place like home.

Sydney, on the other hand, was an absolute Angel. Aimee couldn't stop raving about what an advanced soul she is, and how easy she was to care for. Thank goodness!

And she is rapidly learning. She is sitting in her bouncer right now, and at 2 1/2 months, she has already learned that when the sights and sounds stop, she can kick things with her feet and get the show going again. Outstanding.

This was really cute -- when we got home from seminar each night, everyone was in bed (after midnight). But Sunday, things wrapped up around 5pm and we were home by 7. Sydney was awake and obviously happy to see me. I took a few minutes to reconnect with her, and sat on the sofa, holding her facing me. She had a huge grin on her face and "talked" to me (coos, gurgles, giggles, and squeals) non-stop for about 2 minutes straight. It was as though she wanted to tell me all about her weekend and how much she had missed me. Oooooh, I missed her too.

But it was certainly nice to have a break!

My little angels are back into their routines (Syd slept 7 hours straight last night) and we are back in action, at least for a couple of weeks until we head over to Cancun for the Liberty Conference.
