Happy Birthday to Me!
Today is Mommy's b-day and so far, so good. Not a major milestone (just 34) and kind of hard to think about birthday when we are just 20 days away from welcoming little Sydney!
This morning we all went to breakfast at a charming Crepe Cafe in downtown Castle Rock -- one we've been meaning to try for months. It was delicious and Sally was well-behaved (which always helps). Even without a highchair! They were super-nice and we'll definitely be back. (Fresh-squeezed orange juice AND carrot juice. Yum!)
Then we brought Sally to school. Then the phone started ringing wiht people calling to wish me happy birthday. I even got a happy birthday text message from Joe Vitale. As if I didn't already feel special! :-)
Sally is napping -- I took her shopping after school so we could get her some more big-girl panties. I also bought Sydney's coming-home outfit AND a special outfit for Sally to wear on the same monumental day.
But the best part of all is that Nana is coming to stay for a week after Sydney is born. Hooray!!! She arrives on December 2nd and stays until December 10th. Then I think we are on our own for a couple of weeks -- until just after Christmas when Nanaan and Pops (and Penny and Emily) are planning to come visit for a few days. Right after they leave, Francois and Kelly (Sydney's godparents) will arrive and stay for a week.
It's so interesting that after such a long period of time with virtually NO visitors, we will suddenly have our fill of company! We are considering traveling in January (Sydney will be just 7 weeks old...) and then things may slow down a bit until March (when we're headed back to Cancun for a conference).
Will the fun never end? Of course it won't!!!
I would tell you where Andy is taking me for dinner tonight, except that I have no idea. All I know is that we have our team call at 4pm and then he is bringing Sally next door for Cori to babysit tonight. Yeeee-hah!
:-)
Daddy leaves tomorrow for Joe Vitale's Manifestation Weekend and will return on Monday. I am very excited for him -- it's sure to be an amazing weekend. 3 of our other friends are attending as well. I'm going to have Cori babysit a bit I think, to give me a break. We are going to make the trek up to Denver for church on Sunday -- some friends are coming with us to check out the church. It might snow this weekend!!!
I almost forgot to mention Sally's first dogbite happened last night...Coda from next door was very excited to see her and accidentally nipped her on the ear. It barely broke the skin and she says it still hurts a little but (fortunately) she does not seem to be scared of him. Although he's a MASSIVE dog and I admit I'm a bit scared of him....but all is well so far.
